Charitable Donations

January 2016

On Saturday 30th January, the Lodge held it's annual Ladies Festival, the event was attended by 75 people. A fantastic night was had by all, the Lodge photographer for the night Tony Williams, took many pictures as guests arrived for the evening, these pictures have all been developed and given to people involved. A Mini Motor Bike was donated by W.Bro & President Keith Stanbury & his Wife, this raised a fantastic £375.00, along with the raffle that raised £525.00, a total of £900.00 was raised on the night. Below the pictures show the Mini Motor Bike, the Raffle Prizes and the President and his Lady presenting the bike to the winner Julie Tucker.

November 2015

 On Sunday 29th November, the Lodge held it's second Sunday Lunch Live event at Maylands Golf Club, Essex,  again a total of 77 people were in attendance to what was another outstanding afternoon and everyone enjoyed a 3 course Sunday lunch whilst being entertained by professional singer. Many people attending donated raffle prizes, which enabled us to raise a grand total of £775.00. This money will enable the Lodge to make a substantial donation to St Francis Hospice, in memory of Bro. John Hogger who was cared for by the Hospice.

A huge thanks goes to both Jill & Tony Williams who organised the event and to everyone who kindly donated the raffle prizes.

September 2015

On Saturday 12th September, the Lodge held a race night which was attended by over 50 people, a most enjoyable evening was had by all and we managed to raise over £500.00, this money will be donated to Cancer Research & to the Lennox Childrens Cancer Fund. A special thanks goes to Tony Williams who compared the evening and to everyone else who help make this a special night. 

On Saturday 26th September, Bro Roy Davy along with his daughter Sarah and her friend Jenny completed a walking half marathon on behalf of Shine London, the event was held in London and participants could choose to enter a full marathon or a half marathon, the only rules were that you had to walk and you had to shine, running was not allowed! Between them they raised nearly £1200.00, £900 was raised by friends and family who kindly donated through Just Giving, the other £300 was raised by Jenny who held a BBQ. Along with money that the Lodge donated from the recent race night, Cancer Research will benefit to the tune of over £1450.00. The total raised on the night by the 17,000 participants is expected to be around £5million.

May 2015

The Lodge held it's first Sunday Lunch Live event at Maylands Golf Club, Essex on Sunday 17th May, a total of 77 people attended to what was an outstanding afternoon and everyone enjoyed a 3 course Sunday lunch whilst they were entertained by professional singer Jamie Armstrong. Many of the people attending donated raffle prizes which helpped us raised a grand total of £625.00.This money was donated to Haven House Children's Hospice and takes our donation total up to £1425.00 for the year. 

February 2015

Due to our very successful Ladies night which was held on Saturday 31st Jan 2015, we were able to support Haven House Children’s Hospice, we purchased three mattresses which were top of their urgently required list at a cost of £800.00, our thanks go to Stanley Lewis who spent many weeks looking for a supplier and to secure a deal which met with our available funds.

February 2014

At our 300th meeting we presented VW Chris Caine, Grand Vice President RMBI, a cheque for £300.00 for distribution through his charity.

January 2014

The Worshipful Master Russell Segal was delighted to be able to donate for and on behalf of the Deo Confidimus Lodge £250.00 to CHIGS JYC. This is a Youth Club on the Limes Farm Estate, Hainault, Essex. This Youth Club has been in existence for 25+ years and provides various indoor and outdoor activities for the Youth in and around the Ilford area. Sandra Waldman has together with her family devoted their lives to maintaining this much needed community service and needs all the support available to keep this worthy cause going. We sincerely wish the club every success in the future and hope that Sandra is able to continue her great work for many years to come.

February 2012 Meeting

The Provincial Grand Almoner, W Bro Paul Cohen visited our meeting on Saturday 18th February and appealed to the Brethren to help and support The Provincial Charity fund, this was well received by the Brethren and £200.00 raised by the raffle was donated to this worthy cause.


At our November Meeting we were proud to present a cheque for £1750 to St. Francis Hospice, Havering, to assist in the caring work they do.

JULY 2011

We sponsored John Moseley's Wife and Son on their Half Marathon Charity Walk.

JUNE 2011

The Final Total for the Essex 2011 Festival was announced to be £5,502.833

Russell & Diane Segal hosted a Summmer BBQ which £500 Raised for St Francis Hospice, following a Sunny Day of Food, Quizzes & Raffles on Sunday 26th June.

MAY 2011

This Lodge has the honour of being a Grand Patron of 'The Essex 2011 Festival.' Which stood at £4.7 Million with 2 Months to go

The Festival is now over and the Final Total will be announced at The Festival Ball at The Guildhall, London on Sat 25th June.

March 2011

£50,000 following Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami 
The President of Grand Charity has approved an emergency grant of £50.000 to the British Red Cross, to assist with its work in the aftermath of the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami.

February 2011

£30,000 following New Zealand, Christchurch, Earthquake 
Emergency grant to support New Zealand Red Cross Response. In addition to £10,000 given when a similar earthquake happened in the area in late 2010.

January 2011

Emergency grant following flooding in Brazil
The President of the Grand Charity has announced an emergency grant of £20,000, following flooding earlier this month in Brazil.

January 2010

 £148,000 so far, following the earthquake in Haiti,
The President of the Grand Charity has given relief to the people of Haiti and assisted in the re-building of the country.

£20,000 for Queensland, Australia Floods
The Freemasons' Grand Charity announces emergency grant in response to Australian floods.

Also this Lodge has the honour of being a Grand Patron of 'The Essex 2011 Festival.' Which stands at £4.5 Million with just under 2 months to go.

"Haven House Childrens Hospice now has a specialist children’s blood-pressure machine thanks to Deo Confidimus Lodge. Stanley Lewis, the Almoner, and members of the Deo Confidimus Lodge formally handed the machine to the care team." Haven House, Woodford Green, Essex.

We regularly support

TLC (Teddies for Loving Care). Which started in Essex and now is embraced by most Provinces and other Grand Lodges throughout the World.

We support The Lennox Childrens Cancer Fund. A Local Charity.

We have recently donated a substantial item of Medical Equipment for treating 'End of Life Care' to a Local Children's Hospice.
